Poker is a game of chance in which players place bets into a pot in order to try and win the hand. A player is declared the winner of a hand if they have the highest five-card poker hand. The dealer does the shuffling and betting for each hand. The position of the button (first player to act) rotates after each hand.

There are a few rules that you should follow when playing poker:

Always keep in mind the risk versus reward of each play. You should never gamble more than you are willing to lose, especially when you are new to the game. It’s also important to track your wins and losses so you can figure out whether or not you are making money. A good rule of thumb is to only gamble with an amount of money that you can afford to lose, and to stick with that amount of money during the session.
